Apple 4 GB iPod Mini Pink M9435LL/A - A Wonderful Gizmo With A Sophisticated Character! - Here in Kuwait, I was lucky enough to obtain a mini before it was even available outside the US where it was in such a heavy demand that purchasers had to patiently wait for their units. I would have waited and waited for such a little marvel. The iPod changes how, where and when I choose to listen; all of which maximizes my enjoyment of the music. I noticed that my music
purchases immediately are sampled and compressed on the computer and uploaded to the iPod. I need not experience the music on my Hi Fi anymore. The assurance delivered by the sheer amount of music available in this little package (about 3-solid days worth of music on the mini) satisfies my every mood. With a few turns and clicks, I switch from Joaquin Rodrigo to Philip Glass to the Beatles to Sinatra to Santana ? All good music, all the time, anytime and anywhere. Delivered courtesy of a little piece of technology that is packaged like a work of art. This little device has a character of its own ? something other electronic music players lack. - GO NOW!!! |

Apple 4 GB iPod Mini Blue M9436LL/A - The #1 Digital Music Player - Since the inception of the digital music craze, I have owned several portable MP3 players, but always resisted the urge to purchase an Ipod. I always thought I could get the same value and quality with a lesser-known or cheaper player. Boy was I wrong. I recently received the Ipod Mini as a gift, and I have no idea how I ever got along without it. The small, lightweight, compact design is perfect for the music lover on the go. With the included belt clip, or the neoprene armband (sold separately) you can take your music virtually anywhere. I use it when working out, working in the yard, washing the car, or when I just want to relax. The thumb wheel makes using the Mini a breeze and takes no time at all to get used to. Organizing and transferring music is a snap using the included Itunes software, and if you are like me you could use a little help getting all of your titles organized. The Mini also has several extras you might enjoy such as an address book, alarm clock, and a few games. The backlit display is bright and easy to read. My favorite little perk of the Mini is that you don?t have to worry about wasting your battery while you are transferring your songs or data because the Mini will actually charge itself while connected to your PC if you are using a USB2.0 or Firewire port.
Overall my impressions of the Ipod Mini are very positive and this is without a doubt the best digital music player I have ever owned. - GO NOW!!! |

Apple 4 GB iPod Mini Green M9434LL/A - Everything You Love About IPod Just Got Tinier - IPod mini lets you bring along enough music for a three-day weekend getaway in a package so small you’ll forget you’re carrying it. Until people ask you about it, that is. Apple engineers squeezed all the best features of iPod into a case weighing just 3.6 ounces and smaller than most cell phones. iPod mini features an anodized aluminium case that resists stains and scratches. The case weighs practically nothing, but protects iPod mini in your pocket, purse or backpack. Recessed in the case to keep its surface pristine wherever you lay it, the 1.67 inch (diagonal) backlit screen displays full song names and more. Like its (slightly) bigger brother, iPod mini gives you over 25 minutes of skip protection and lasts up to 8 hours on a single battery charge. So you won’t pay a penalty for miniaturization. - GO NOW!!! |

Apple 4 GB iPod Mini Silver M9160LL/A - As Much Art As It Is Science! - I have been an iPod evangalist since I first turned on the 5GB. As you may know from my reviews of the 5, 15, 20, and 40GB models, I've owned (or given as gifts) just about every incarnation of this glorious device. So, when Apple announced that it was releasing a dramatically redesigned version of the iPod, I knew right away it would at least be a hit, perhaps even enjoy the almost "cult-like" status of its larger parent. So I pre-ordered 3 of them; one for each of my sisters and myself. They arrived about a week ago and I'm happy to report that Apple has done it again with the release of the iPod Mini. It totally ROCKS! There are allot of things I like about this model, but before I get into them A VERY IMPORTANT WARNING TO THOSE THAT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT: YOU MUST CHARGE AT LEAST 4 HOURS BEFORE USE! I, like so many I'm sure, was very eager to "plug and play". I did, without fully charging them, and they experienced all kinds of impossible to resolve errors. Now, in the event you've already bought one, or simply can't help yourself, there is a little known "reset feature" on the mini that will come in handy whenever you have an issue. TO RESET THE MINI, PRESS AND HOLD THE MENU AND SELECT BUTTON (the middle round button) FOR SIX SECONDS. That'll bring your baby back to life. The colors are awesome (I have the blue, silver, and pink), look very stylish, and will likely show less wear. If you have the patience, consider having Apple engrave them for you (looks very cool). The sound is excellent. I don't have a testing lab, but I could swear that the sound quality is better; and I'm almost certain that they can play at a higher volume. Another important improvement is the fact that when skipping forward more than a handful of songs the mini doesn't stall (for a second or two) like it's predecessors. So, in conclusion, this is a wonderful new player that'll be sure to WOW everyone that owns it, and create envious spectators out of those that don't. - GO NOW!!! |

Apple 15 GB iPod M9460LL/A - Much More Than Music - I bought an iPod about three weeks ago. It is about the best thing I've bought since I bought my G4 two years ago. This iPod is said to hold 3700 songs, give or take, and I have 1129 and counting loaded on there. I like saying that, it just blows people away. It syncs perfectly and quickly with iTunes, updating my songs, playlists and play counts, PLUS it syncs with iSync a standard app on my Mac which updates all my Address Book contacts, iCal calendars and load then right in. I also put some of my class notes on my iPod and view them right in the Notes function. It let's me rate 1 to 5 stars all my songs on the go as well as make playlist with one thumb. The rechargeable battery last my whole 7 hour day on campus. I also transport DV files on it and it can boot my Mac if necessary. This iPod does much more than music, it's a good tool and just plain cool. I know it might be steep for some to get, but I recommend everyone to get one either new, used, or refurbished. Apple's Hot Deals site had a refurb. iPod 20GB for $299, the same as I paid for a 15GB one. I love it. - GO NOW!!! |

Apple 20 GB iPod M9244LL/A - The Best Out There - The Apple iPod is simply the best MP3 jukebox on the market, combined with the fact that iTumes is available in both Mac and PC, it makes it ridiculously easy to use your iPod. I highly recommend the 20GB model over the others because 1, it comes with all the accessories you are going to want that you don't get with the 10GB model and 2, you will never use 40GB of space. That's just a ridiculous amount of space. My only complaint is that the iPod didn't come with the cable for BOTH firewire and USB. at $400, why not I have to wonder. Even worse, salesmen in stores don't seem to know this either so you buy it, spend a few hours trying to figure out why you can't get your PC to recognize it, only to figure out that you need another $20 cable (PC users anyway). the instruction book doesn't really make that point as clear as it should either. SO... if you are getting this for someone as a gift... be sure to get the extra cable. All in all, Apple again has proven to be innovative and ahead of its time. along with the new G5 computers available with 23" flat panel screens, it's hard to ignore this company. - GO NOW!!! |

Apple 30 GB iPod (M8948LL/A, April 2003 Version) - Wow! The Real Deal - Got my 30 GB iPod and it's exactly what I hoped it would be, my dream replacement for my RioVolt 250. I'm using Win 2K and Music Match Plus and the sync worked like a charm. Even with a Fireward card, transferring 20 GB of MP3's takes a while so let it go overnight. Also, take Apple's advice and charge the unit for an hour before you start working with it. You'll need to do the 2.01 updater but the interface will basically do it for you. You may need to reboot a time or two till iPod Manager sees the iPod but after that, all is swell. Take some time and build your playlists first. MusicMatch tech support confirmed that no matter how many times a tune shows up in a playlist, it's onlybeing written once to the iPod HD so be sure to create playlists based on artist, or album or genre or mix etc. That way, you'll have planty of different ways to access your tunes. I didn't want to go thru 5000 tunes one by one, till I found what I was looking for. Get the car charger and you're ready to go. ... I'll [get] the Belkin AA Battery external charger for trips longer than 10 hours. It's only been two days but so far so good. Quality is great, it's light and easy to carry at the gym. I love it. iTunes may be cooler and Apple may do something for us Windows users soon but Music Match Plus (comes with the iPod ) will do till then. BTW, make use of the "tagging" features to get your tunes properly named and identified, especially if they came from you know where. It'll make bulding playlists easier. Once you import the MP3's into "My library", highlight the MP3 or MP3's, right mouse click and choose "edit track tags". Then in the dialogue box that opens, pick "lookup tag". It'll go find all the albums that track appeared on along with the album art. Pick the one you want and it'll name it correctly. Enjoy! - GO NOW!!! |

Apple 40 GB iPod M9245LL/A - Wonderful piece of technology and style! - Before I've owned my Apple computer I have been wandering why it has been pricey relatively to cheapo PC. No questions anymore. There is absolutely no way to compare. Apple has proved to me its stunning quality, speed and amazing improvements from release to release. The iTunes software is really piece of wonderful engineering and I have been enjoying it for quite long time. So I've been shopping for digital music box. It is not true to say that I had no concerns about high price of this iPod and carefully checked characteristics and features. Eventually I have decided to try, partially because Apple store has 10 days return policy. The sound quality is nothing to compare to! I own most advanced KOSS headphones, but after trying those tiny Apple's ear-bugs! WOW! Sound is reach, full of dynamic and exceptionally clear and precise. The navigation is SO SMOOTH that you take it for the first time in your palm and it's it! I'm browsing through huge number of records with 2-3 moves.
I would like to say that since I have started with Apple equipment I started to believe again that human being are intelligent! It is not crappy piece of hardware that you have to struggle to make it working. To those who are looking on anything else and maintaining some skepticism about futures/price I would say: try it! It make you music listening just plain fun. You think about music, it's it. The integration of iTunes and iPod is example of well thought engineering. - GO NOW!!! |

Archos Jukebox Multimedia 20 GB Handheld Entertainment Center - Your Digital Wonder Device - When I finally bit the bullet and decided to buy my first MP3 player, I knew I wanted something with a lot of capacity, a no-hassle file transfer system, and a simple interface. The Multimedia Jukebox has these features and more. It not only has the capacity to record in MP3 format from its suprisingly clear microphone or a digital AV input jack, but it also acts as a JPG picture viewer, you can watch AVI files on it after an easy conversion, *and* with the optional 2 megapixel camera you can take still pictures and video! While the resolution is nothing to write home about, for my needs (I'm not a photo or video nut), I got the basic functionality I wanted--the ability to take pictures or video on the fly. And with 20 gigs of space, you could shoot for hours! I can't believe no one has made a versatile digital toolkit like this before! The device acts just like a harddrive, allowing you to copy, drag-n-drop, and the like within Windows Explorer. No pointless file transfer software! Navigation in the device itself follows the Explorer pattern with folders and files. The controls are not that intuitive, but are easy to use once you get familiar with them. The device includes all the software you need, a set of AV cables that allow you to record to the Jukebox in stereo, and some swoop-style headphones (good sound, not especially comofortable, but they have volume control on the wire *and* they fold up... a nice feature). I've started ripping my music collection, and with a shareware ripper I've even loaded some of my favorite DVDs onto it. Converted to fit on the device, a two-hour film is less than a gig. And the little color LCD screen is surprisingly crisp and easy on the eyes when one is watching, say, the entirety of "Gladiator". All in all, a great device. My only complaints: the yellow-on-black text is aesthetically unpleasant, and I haven't found a way to modify the display colors; and there is no direct video recording via the AV cable yet (allowing you to record from a TV, VCR, or DVD player), although that functionality is supposedly coming through another module. - GO NOW!!! |

Archos Gmini 220 20 GB MP3 Jukebox / Recorder / Photo Wallet-Viewer with Compact Flash Reader - I'd recommend the Gmini 220 - I wasn't even in the market for an MP3 player - I thought MP3 players were a gimmick marketed to "kids" - but I've become a fan after using the Archos Gmini 220 for a full month. I'm going on vacation halfway around the world and wanted a way to store digital photos without lugging a laptop. Despite the negative reviews on this site, I decided to try the Gmini 220 because it was the only reasobnably priced, small device with 20 GB of storage and a built in CF card reader. I've tested photo storage using the CF reader and it works great, and I've also come to love the MP3 player. The sound is great (I bought a $15 pair of headphones to replace the earbuds that came with the player). After loading over 200 CD's using the enhanced MP3 format from the MusicMatch software, I still have 15 GB free to store my photos. Now I have entertainment for that long plane ride as well as the photo storage I wanted! The Gmini is small (easily fits in a shirt pocket) and well designed. The interface is intuitive, and gives you several ways to access music or data on the drive, including a straightforward browser. After many hours of use, I've only had one problem: When I first got the player, I couldn't get the ArcLibrary to update after loading new music. You can use the browser instead of the ArcLibary, but I wanted everything to work as designed, so I called Archos technical support. They answered promptly, were courteous, and walked me through solving the problem in a few minutes (I had a corrupt ArcLibrary file - they had me delete the file and update the player, and the Gmini automatically recreated a working ArcLibrary file). This problem has not recurred and everything else has worked well.
I wonder if the people who are flaming the player here have read the manual - e.g. - the person whose Gmini froze. The manual's troubleshooting section identifies this as a possible outcome of subjecting the player to electrostatic shock and says to hold the power button down for 15 sections to shut off and reboot the system if this happens. The person complaining here talked about pushing all the buttons and now waiting for the battery to die - he doesn't mention tryintg the solution easily found in the manual (hmm - operator error?)!
Anyway, I'm very pleased with the Gmini 220 - very small size; huge storage capacity; very good sound quality; felxible, intuitive interface; versatile (self powered external hard drive, photo storage direct from CF card); good technical support. - GO NOW!!! |

G Mini 120 MP3 Player RECORDER20GB 2.5IN HD Wma Plyr Photo Wallet - Perfect - This product is excellent! You get great MB/$ ratio. When mine came in it took little time to load all my songs. Its perfect for my camera that uses a CF card. The sound quality is excellent. And the size is incredible- its much smaller than a floppy disk and weighs about the same amount as one AA battery. The screen is huge and the overall look of the unit is great. I haven't had any problems so far (~month), and I would recommend this to anyone. - GO NOW!!! |

Video AV340 with Dvr 100 MODULEMPEG4 Video & MP3 Play/rec 40GB - Archos AV340 vs. IPod - Substance over Style? - I started researching Mp3 players when a few of my co-workers picked up Ipods. Though I thought these were sleek and clean gadgets with a very nice feel and design, I really wanted something that did more than just play Mp3s. Then I found the Archos products and imediately knew this was what I was looking for. I wanted a product that had more substance than style. I just got my Archos AV340 and couldn't be happier. It really is like the Swiss army knife of Mp3 gadgets. It is so easy to use as a portable drive and to record both audio and video from any source that I'm sometimes amazed that it's that easy. I use it to record my live concert DVD's to hear and see at work deskside. The sound quality is absolutely amazing and it maintains that concert sound that I love so much. The image quality from the capture is also very good especially if you're viewing from the AV340. My plan is to capture all my favorite music videos and concerts on to it and then play them as playlists or random to have my very own custom MTV style channel while on the go. My channel will actually play videos though!! Now all my Ipod friends are jealious and want to trade their's in for Archos AVs! Ipods look nice but this product is a solid and powerful piece of hardware that just does so much more. - GO NOW!!! |

Archos AV380 80 GB Personal Video & MP3 Jukebox Player / Recorder w/ Digital Video Recorder - Much easier than dragging all those DVDs around - This thing is exactly what I was looking for to take on long trips. First, it replaced
a portable DVD player and the need to take all my movies on DVD disks with me. Next, it replaced an electronic film vault as I can load JPEGs in from my CF cards, and the screen is much better to share photos with friends. And the size and weight of the AV380 compared to lugging around a laptop is pure joy! I was concerned that movies would be "jerky" or "pixilated", but nothing could be further from the truth. Maybe it's not DVD quality, but it's so close I can't tell the difference. This product is going to turn heads wherever you go. I see that Archos is releasing the AV400, which has CF built in, but it's not hard to do with this unit. Synchs right up to Win XP, and the USB 2.0 is great for moving files around. Anything I don't like? I believe we'll see these PVPs really take off in the next year. On my wish list would be removable battery packs, a speaker, and a built in CF reader (all now available on the new AV400 which should be shipping soon, and more file acceptance TIFF, PDF, etc. A flip cover for the screen would also be nice, as the unit doesn't come with a case. Recording movies into the unit is a snap, but the process of doing file conversions on movies I've made with Pinnacle was more daunting than I was prepared for (no, I didn't major in computer science). Much easier to just output to disk or camcorder and then re-record into the AV380. All in all, the coolest product I've bought since the first portable DVD players came out a few years back. - GO NOW!!! |

Archos AV320 Video and MP3 Jukebox Recorder - Very Simple - Like many, I was deciding between Archos and RCA. I'm sure RCA has released I good product but...after doing research I had my doubts about the RCA(bad software, delays, side by side reviews, etc).
I'll try to keep this short. Overall this is a good device, it does what it claims to do very easily.
PROS:
+Nice screen
+Easy Navigation
+Easy to Record Audio/Video
+Easy to transfer files
+Sound and Video quality is great
+Clean design
+Controls are good(except when the middle joystick button option is on)
+The ablity to have ad-ons(My deciding factor)
CONS:
-The weight...its not a brick but its heavier then Iexpected(this weighs 12.5oz/RCA weighs 12.8oz...according to official specs)
-The price..but its a new product from a small company
I have only had it for a week(I ran though most of the functions) so I might find more nagging things. But so far, so good - GO NOW!!!

Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox Zen NX 30 GB Digital Audio Player - Excellent Value, Excellent Player - This is my first mp3 player purchase. I had toyed around with an iPod at an electronics store and was almost sold on it. It was just so cool. But after thinking things over I decided it wasn't worth the price. So I started looking into the Zen. I was close to buying it when the Zen NX was announced, so I held out for it. I am sure glad I did! I was able to buy it for less than $300, but even for that it's an incredible deal. 30GB, incredible sound (according to professional reviewers it has the best sound of any mp3 player, including the iPod), well-designed navigation, and cool EAX features. Unlike some people, I didn't have any problem at all with the software it comes with. However, I had ripped all my software beforehand with other programs, so my ID3 tags and everything were all set. I only used Creative's program to upload them to my Zen. My only complaint with the player is the scroll wheel is a little hard to click. While the screen is small, it's sharp and easy to read and navigate. In short, this is the best bang for the buck. It's a good, convenient size, feels solid, comes with plenty of space for mp3s, sounds awesome, and is relatively stylish as well! Highly recommended for buyers unwilling to waste extra money on style (iPod). - GO NOW!!! |

Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 30 GB MP3 Player - So Far So Good - It's passed the 6 month test, no problems w/ it, no shutdown of hard drive. Fingers crossed it can pass the 8 month test...I'm sorry about the horror stories, maybe I just got lucky w/ a functioning Jukebox. I'm pretty active w/ it, jogging, weightlifting, painting w/ it on, even dropped it once or twice, but still works. Course, I don't throw it around or treat it like a stupid little walkman, it *is* a computer and should be treated as such. I have never tried the Ipod, so I can't compare the sound, interface, ect. All I can say, is that this product is a Godsend at 220 bucks. If you are a finnicky listener like me, and you can't stomach listening to the radio because you have to change the station every other song, if not turn off the radio completely, because you are so freaking sick of stupid music passed off as, well, music, then a product like this is mandatory in your life. You need to have the ability to only listen to what you want to listen to. I have a playlist of over 400+ indie-esque rock songs, another of 50+ that lists my current fave songs, and another of 40+ classical and celtic music pieces. It is what it is, a personal jukebox, a personal radio station. No more interchanging CDs while driving (btw, I just used an old car tape-deck adapter from my CD player to adapt the jukebox to the car stereo, no need to buy the accessory car adapter kit), no more tedious and infuriatingly redundant pop-"alternative" rock music while waiting to hear one good song out of thirty, no more 8 minute commercial breaks...just pop in the jukebox and hit shuffle. The interface can be a little messy, but it's still worth it. 80 bucks less than an Ipod and 20+ GB more...yeah, it's definitely worth it (if it works for you). - GO NOW!!! |

Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 40 GB MP3 Player - Get This Player! - Before I decided to get this player, I did my research. I looked up the ipod, the dell jukebox, and the samsung napster player. I chose this one because from what I read, it was the best deal for the money. Another reason I got it is because you can put WMA files on it. That takes up half the space of MP3's. That's important because I have a lot of music. The software is great. you can sort your music by artist, title, album, or genre, and you can play music based on those categories. transfering is easy, the software makes everythig pretty easy. even the battery life is great- it advertises 14 hours, it's actually a little less but still good. only 1 problem, no accessories...yet. I hope it's because it's new and they are not out yet, but being without a remote is hard. They player's interface itself is also very easy to use. can't complain and I recommend it over all the other players, just hope that remote will come out soon. GET IT, IT'S WOTH EVERY PENNY!! - GO NOW!!! |

Creative Labs Nomad MuVo² 4 GB MP3 Player (Version 2.0) - Great little Player - I checked out what other people were writing about this item after I had purchased it before it was released having a particulary specific understanding of what I was buying from a friend who works for this company. I was not disappointed in any way whatsoever. What is good about this item? Great sound. I don't have the specs but I don't really need them to emphasize that the sound quality it emits is absolutely wonderful and plenty loud. I use those relatively expensive sony earbud speakers but just about every set I have used sounds exceptional.
Interface is so simple a blind mongoloid could use it. Maybe even some of the blind mongoloids that recently slammed the Muvo2 because they couldn't rip off hitachi any more. A few clicks of a button and you have the files you want playing. Downside...need to create your own play lists...but most likely you are using a computer to transfer the songs so, you your primary gadget for the filing. Compact, solid and light. Yeah...its on par with its competitor...the IPOD. Plugs and is immediately recognized by most modern computers as an external harddrive...something that its competitor doesn't do. Unlike IPOD, which requires you to use the horrible program, ITUNES, this beauty plugs in and turns on. Click and drag. The price is good too. - GO NOW!!! |

Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 60GB MP3PORTABLE Audio Player with Headphones - Amazing Machine - This is a great device. I do, however recommend it to the computer literate person. You have to be able to have enough patience to read through the manual and experiment with the software before you rush into downloading everything. So take your time and you will be rewarded. The best feature is its sound. I hooked it up to some bose earphones and fantastic. The usb2 port is fast and accurate. You can do everything with the fantastic software. I have just scratched the surface and have over 1000 songs. I love downloading them from the web. I create my playlists and have a great time. I like the random feature which lets you basically have the machine cut loose and play your tracks at random. I think it is the best machine on the market and highly recommend it to the serious music buff. I warn you that you will have to download a new operating system and I was a little frightened at installing it but it works great. One word of warning don't create a blank playlist and try to play it. This causes the player to hang but only until you use a paper clip to hit the reset button. And I havent lost anything yet.
So get one and have fun. By the way the battery is inserted so no problems when you need a new one and you can download everything just using windows media player. A fantastic deal. - GO NOW!!! |

Creative Labs NOMAD 60 GB Jukebox Zen USB 2.0 MP3 Player - I Love It - This is the best mp3 player i have ever used, it took a while getting used to the controls and options but once you get the hang of it, its incredble. The only complain I have is the software used to transfer the songs... it just sucks. But we arn't talk about the software here we talking about the mp3 player, its just awsome, the sound, the design, the options all make it an awsome package. Took me less than 5 minutes to transfer 3GB of music and installin gthis baby was a breeze. YOU ALL NEED TO GET THIS MP3 PLAYER. its better than the zen nx and zen xtra because you can buy and optional remote, which I did. It only works with the Nomad Zen and this makes it even a beter mp3 player with the remote! GO OUT AND BYE ONE ASAP! - GO NOW!!! |

iAUDIO M3L 20 GB Metal Silver MP3 Jukebox w/FM & Voice Recorder w/cradle - An Honest Alternative To Apple's Little Wonder - There's been a lot of talk about this being the first real "iPod killer," but having used the iAudio extensively, I would say that is a bit of an stretch. It is, however, a strong alternative. The M3L has a less elegant but more pragmatic approach to portable music. The aluminum casing can withstand abuse, the display is small but crammed with information, and the buttons are many but functional. Fit and finish is excellent, the main unit is solid and amazingly small. The screen moved to the remote is inspired in my opinion, but it is purely personal preference. I can commute to work with the iAudio safely tucked in a pocket and still be able to control the music. But the tradeoff is the small screen and the reliance on the remote for all functions - without it the iAudio would be almost useless (additional remotes can be purchased). Navigation is through folders which is a blessing if you've sorted your music collection, and it seamlessly plays M3U playlists, a huge plus if your comfortable with Winamp. The sound is amazing, a bit louder than the iPod and - with the extensive DSP effects - a bit more dynamic. But even directly from an MP3 or Ogg, it renders the sound precisely. The included headphones are decent and fontunately the iAudio can power a big set of heaphones easily. I've pulled 32 hours (!) of use from the M3L before recharging, and I was able to fill the unit's HD in just a few minutes through the USB connection. The FM tuner is clear with good signals but has trouble grabbing weaker ones, and the built-in recording is suprisingly good for voice, radio and line-in. In fact the line-in sounded beautiful, recording at 320kbs MP3 with good range and little static. I'd have no hesitation using the iAudio to snag a recording if I'm far from home.
All in all, it is an incredible player that has distinct style and features very much it's own, a well-kept secret I'm happy to have found. It should also be noted that Cowon's response to users' ideas and complaints has been solid, and they've continued supporting the M3 with firmware upgrades and features. Highly recommended. - GO NOW!!! |

iRiver iHP 140 40 GB MP3 Jukebox - The Best Alternative To iPod! - I recently acquired the iRiver IHP 140 MP3 player, and wanted to share my thoughts on the product to any who may be considering an MP3 player of this capacity. I also have an iPod, though it now only plays out of the right channel, and does not hold a charge for more than 4 hours. This was to be the successor to the iPod, and I am very pleased so far with the choice to go with the iRiver. What's good about it? First, at just under $400, you are getting double the capacity of the iPod. Second, I have to say that after several days listening to it and trying out the many EQ options, that the sound quality BLOWS AWAY the iPod. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much more detail I was able to hear on the same set of earbuds with the iRiver vs. the iPod. This thing is fantastic. Second, it has a built-in FM tuner. The sound quality and reception was surprisingly good. Third, no driver software is needed. The iRiver is recognized as a USB mass storage device when it is plugged in. Just drag and drop files onto the IRiver using a browser. There is database software included, which greatly assists in navigating through your collection. The database software will categorize and allow you to navigate your tunes collection by artist, title, or music genre, among other options. You can also create customized playlists through Winamp. What's wrong with it? Nothing major, in short. The user interface is not as slick as the one-handed operation provided by the Ipod, but it's not bad. It will take some getting used to if you're coming from an iPod.
The depth of options to plumb through, and the range of customization possible make the unit somewhat more complex to navigate through. Bottom line, if you're in the market for a player with this much capacity, the iRiver is definitely worth your time and attention. You won't be sorry. - GO NOW!!! |

iRiver iHP 100 10 GB MP3 Jukebox - Amazing Product - This product is truly amazing.I put in a lot of thought before actually bying it but it is worth every penny. Its best feature is that it doesn't require any type of software whatsoever.Just plug it in and XP recognises it as an external drive so just drag-and-drop files (at super-fast speeds). The sound quality is is great although i would recommend bying a pair of decent headphones instead of using the earphones it comes with.FM reception is also perfect and recording couldn't be any easier with the internal mic and the Line/Optical In/Out ports.Battery life is also a great asset of this player. I load music to it almost every day and listen for about 1.5 hrs and the player can last for 5 days. That's crazy considering that loading music consumes a lot of battery since the player is connected to the pc.Therefore, in terms of pure listening, i think it can last for about 12-13 hrs.The only drawback i found is the way it categorizes songs.Currently the player can only categorize (artist, album, song, genre) mp3 files and since the vast majority of my files are WMA finding a song could potentially be hard at times if u have a very big collection(the songs are, however, categorized alphabetically in each folder regardless of their type). iRiver can probably fix that with a firmware upgrade in the future. Other than that the player is a top gadget! - GO NOW!!! |

iRiver iHP 120 20 GB MP3 Jukebox - Love It - I have had this player for over a month now, and I think it's great. No complaints so far. I don't use the database function, because it doesn't recognize .wma. My folders are organized Artist/album/song. It's pretty easy to navigate wherever I need to go. I use a program called Tag and Rename to rename all of my song files based on info in the file. I rename them song#-title.wma so I can play in album order if I choose to. The internal microphone does pick up noise when the HD spins. Using the included external mic solves this problem and makes pretty good sounding recordings. I've also used it to record audio from the radio (different radio plugged into the iHP-120 input;no direct FM recording), so I can listen to a show later. Pretty handy. - GO NOW!!! |

LEXAR MEDIA MPC-231 JumpGear MP3 Digital Music Player for JumpDrive Sport - Great Value For The Cost - Sometimes the most useful things are the simplest ones, and this little guy fits that category. The controls are simple and straightforward, the buttons are rugged rubber, and the battery life is exceptional if you turn off the backlight. The earbud headphones that are included are sturdy but may lack a little in reproducing bass sound; I plugged in a larger pair of Sony headphones that I use on my computer and the sound quality from this guy was equal to listening to MP3s on my PC. I could fit about 50 songs on a 256MB card, which is enough to last me a week before I want to change them. And reloading songs from a PC is *so* easy with the USB technology. Make no mistake, this isn't an iPod, but it's very small, easy to use, and very practical. - GO NOW!!! |

RCA Lyra 20 GB Jukebox MP3 Player - Not Bad For The Price - This is a cool MP3 player/hard drive for the money. It is simple to use and easily read by my computer. It does have a few minor problems that I don't like. It has a slow download time (USB not firewire), the screen has a minor uncontrolable dimming problem, and the control knob sticks a bit. The worst problem the player has is it doesn't like to play in the cold. If it is cold, it has a loud, continuous beep and give the message, "ambient temperature too low." It will not turn back on until it warms up, so it will not work well on a jog unless you live in Las Vegas. The player works best plugged into the wall. But with all the drawbacks, it still is pretty good for the low price. - GO NOW!!! |

RCA RD2840 Lyra 40 GB Personal Jukebox MP3 Player - I LOVE It! - The RCA 2840 Lyra is my 1st MP3 player. I went for the large hard drive and the RCA name. It holds LOTS of tunes. I have 250+ songs on it and LOTS more and it's only 10% full. I loaded songs from my CD collection onto it easily. It takes about 1 minute per song to convert to MP3 format, then only a second or two to transfer to the Lyra. I also use it for a backup drive to my PC using Windows XP. I can just drag&drop 100's of files in seconds. A great additional use for this product -- peace of mind! The battery life is about 10 hours as advertised. It has a sturdy belt clip; I use mine often while riding my bicycle at the park. Other reviews mention problems with the device locking up...NOT ONCE has it done this to me. Other mention slowness in changing songs...NOT AT ALL on mine.
I've had it 2 months and I LOVE it. - GO NOW!!! |

Rio Nitrus 1.5 GB MP3 Jukebox - Very Good Player - I was looking for a new MP3 player after owning my Rio 800 for 4 years (still works great) I decided to buy another great Rio with more memory. I saw the Rio Nitrus and thought it looked good. It held tons of songs, looked great, and had a great company behind it. I ordeded then came to amazon to look at the reviews. While reading I became very disappointed i ordered it. About 5 days ago I recieved it and I could not ask for better sound quality or menu options. It has a sleek design that fits perfectly into my pocket. It holds 548 mp3s and has a great organizer to find them. I was also looking at the iPod, but it is too expensive and I dont need all that space. The Rio Music Manager is very easy to use and very quick to download to the rio. The battery is only 4 hours to charge compared to 11!!! It also last 14 hours! The ONLY thing that disappointed me was it had no case compared to the 800. So overall I would recommened this to ANYONE looking for an excellent quality mp3 player. - GO NOW!!! |

Rio Karma 20 GB MP3 Player - Rio Gets It Right!!! - I have been purchasing mp3 players since they first came out. From the first Nomads and Archos HD players, to the latest 1.5 gb mini jukeboxes. Alot of them have some good features (Nomad), great design (Ipod), compact size (Rio Nitrus), however none seem to have put it all together until now. The Pros - Nice compact design, fits comfortably in one hand with user friendly controls. Fantastic firmware. Unlike the Rio Nitrus, It is very easy to locate quickly any of the thousands of songs on its 20 gb hard drive. You can create Playlists from the unit itself. You can use the RIO DJ funtion to make a quick list of your favorite songs. It would take up too much space to list the rest of the functionality, but it all works very well. The battery life is a major plus. I am sure the Ipod would last 8 hours if you let it run and never touch it. However the Karma has lasted me at least 15 hours, and that is with me making playlists and playing with the settings. The sound is top notch and the ear buds they include are better than most. The Cons - I can't really list any, but have read that some people have had problems with the Karma crashing or not funtioning properly. I can't comment on that because mine has worked fine for about a month. I am more satisfied with the Karma than any other mp3 player and can recomend it strongly - GO NOW!!! |

Samsung YP-910GS USB 2.0 20 GB Hard Drive and Digital Audio Player - WMA will be around longer than Apple! - Just read the ridiculous Mac mentality pro ipod review. it says not to buy the Samsung Napster player because Apple is going to put Napster out of business!. Even if this Mac fantasy were to come true, its irrelevant to the player's usefulness. Any songs that you buy in WMA format will continue to play on the Samsung Napster player (and the more than 400 other players made by Gateway,Dell, Rio,Iriver etal). You can also easily transfer WMA files to mp3 files using Roxio or Real Player software. If you have bought the WMA files they are untethered and do not require any authentication from Napster or any other service. The Napster Samsung player is far superior to the ipod and for the price you get far more features (fm tramsmitter and recording capabilities)
The Ipod is a closed system that does not function with WMA. - GO NOW!!! |

SmartDisk Flash Trax FTX80 80 GB MP3 Player and CF Recorder - Very Good Allrounder - I had the need for a product that could be used for: 1. playing MP3, 2. dumping photos 3.Viewing photos and 4. Portable data storage. Along with the Archos products this was the only device which can do it all. I selected this because I prefer the "gameboy" design since it protects the screen well. In fact, I was so impressed with the specs that I was prepared to pay about $170 shipping(to south africa) and run the risk of losing it since there is no support outside US/Europe at all. It all paid off(so far). Fortunately it arrived intact and I have had the device now for 3 problem free months. It plays music with exceptional quality and photo dumping from all card formats are a breeze with the very flexible optional adapter. TV connection also works well. The video only supports Motion JPEG - MJPEG.AVI files. I have been able to look at .avi videos taken with a Canon camera successfully. However with a downloadeable translation tool from their web site, many other formats can be translated and it works. The translated video takes up a bit more space after translation. Since the device firmware can be upgraded, one hopes that they will come out with more video codecs. The only glitch i found is that the operating system can be very slow when you have large directories. With 80GB of dispace available, a directory can become too large very quickly. That requires a lot of organizing if you have lots of music to store. I also requested from the support people to confirm (before I ordered)whether I would be able to read a Memorystick Duo (with supplied adapter) but there was no satisfactory answer. Battery life is not great, about 3 hours when playing music only, but that should be expected for a device such as this. When only using it for dumping photos, it lasts for days. A nice feature is that it can read .M3U playlists created on our PC and you can create playlists on the device itself. An all in all impressive product which have given me countless hours of joy(so far) and I would recommend it for sure. In fact, I have not seen a device on the market yet for the price that can beat it. - GO NOW!!! |
